Dakota Drifters Special Meeting

September 6, 2000

The meeting was brought to order by Ron Longville at 7:20 PM.

Treasures report was read and appproved.

Minutes were read and approved.

OLD BUSINESS: Bear and Bull session is still on the rocks with Lance at the Brookings in.

Keeping the session in the center or moving to Armory

Vendors are being lined up for the spots in the convention center. Outdoor Obsessions were locked in on wanting a booth for $100.

NEW BUSINESS: Motion was made to order 48 hats and have them ready for Cubby;s Budget was $8 per hat. Motion was seconded by Roshal. Motion was approved.

Promotion night at Cubbys is set for Wednesday night the 27th of Sept. at 7:00 PM The advertising will be matched at $100 each. Motion was made by Ron to tie in our grass drags budget to the Cubby’s night. Seconded by Roshal . Vote passed.

The 20 x 20 board is done and squares need to be sold.

Bob was nominated to call the Chamber of commerce to put in the bulletin board for the month, the grass drags and the convention.

Meeting dates and times are Sept 20th and also the 27th at Cubby’s. Meetings will start at 7:30 PM.

Corey Kindt was going to check on the Mendel land again to use for the Drags.

The food at the grass drags will be taken care of by Lamps, Weisbecks and Kindts again.

Brian Bajear Agreed to get the light kit at the Watertown event on the 17th of Sept.

Ray Oines said we are caught up on bills from last year. A check from the grooming association was recieved in the amount of $2251.86. This will be put in our budget.

The rescue sled idea and discussion was tabled for next Mtg.

Ray Oines volunteered to do a letter a couple mtgs ago. It was sent to all registered snowmobilers in Brkgs Co. The letter content entailed the need for club support, support for national parks,

help on the convention etc.

Motion was made by Brian DeBaere that we send a survey to all licensed snowmobilers and get their E-mail address etc and how they want to be contacted. Seconded by Lyle Steenson. Discussion was also that we should enclose a letter concerning the closure of forest service land and national parks. Motion was voted and caried. Motion was made by Ron to adjourn the meeting. Motion seconded by Joe and motion passed.
