✓ Quorum met The meeting was started with a meal catered by Prairie Lanes. A $5/plate or $10/family donation was suggested. After supper, all kids under age 15 picked a prize from the prize table. Door prize tickets were drawn throughout the rest of the night for the other prizes. New Business: Charity Poker Run—The 2013 Poker Run will be held the last Saturday of January. Bo asked for a volunteer to go visit all of the stops. Danny and Cody agreed to assist with this. M/S Reenie/Roshal to have Special Olympics Brookings be our charity and their group would be able to assist and hold fundraisers (such as the raffle board). Motion passed. Also, Special Olympics Brookings would help with registration and the drawing of cards so club members could ride. Craig mentioned that Lemkes offered to host a breakfast. Danny offered to visit Lemkes numerous times to make sure the offer was still good. McLane said he asked during the off season. Club members will be needed to assist with spreading the word. M/S Scott/Reenie For the first place prize to be $500, second place to be $150, and third place to be $50. There was discussion to increase our 2nd/3rd prizes to $250, $100, however, the original motion was not amended. Motioned passed. Discussion occurred about a charity poker run and having money for the charity. M/S Roshal/Carol to have $250 minimum go to the charity and than anything above the expenses go to the charity as well. Motion passed. SDSA trailer—As discussed last month, we can pay $100 to have our name and $250 to have our logo on the SDSA trailer. M/S Jerry/Walt to pay $250 and have our Dakota Drifters logo put on the trailer. The question was asked if SDSA needed money. It was stated by a club member that the only way the raffle will be paid for is by selling logos. Motioned failed by a hand vote. The questioned was asked if we wanted to spend $100 to have our name on the trailer. It was stated that the goal of having our name on the club is exposure. M/S Reenie/McLane to spend the $100 for the club’s name on the SDSA safety trailer. Motioned passed. Other: Les Nelson from Prairie Lanes reminded the club we could use the parking lot for rides. Les also stated that if the club wanted to use Prairie Lanes as the starting/ending spot for the poker run, Prairie Lanes would donate 2 $50 bar tabs. Also, reminder of the club ride next Wednesday, December 19th…leave at 7pm from Prairie Lanes. Meeting Adjourned and bowling started!!
