Dakota Drifters Club Meeting – Nov 13th, 2019 Location:
Prairie Lanes Roger Thue called the meeting to order. Bill distributed the meeting minutes, and Roger noted that the reference to our website should say Dakotadrifters.org. Bill to amend meeting minutes. Motion to approve 10/9 minutes Gayle (m) Troy (s). Minutes approved. Treasurer’s Report for 10/1/19 to 10/31/19: Darin Hai reported that we have 28 paid members and 1 associate member.
Motion to approve Treasurer’s report. Walt (m), Patrick (s). Report approved. Committee Reports: Gayle Chapel updated on the Trail Boxes project. Gayle had a sample of the boxes, and she has 12 of them purchased. She is making some laminated info sheets to install on the front, and trail maps will be kept inside the boxes. Thanks Gayle! There was a discussion that for the charity ride, we could print up some paper maps showing locations of the sponsor locations and also put these in the trail boxes for the ride. Other Old business: Roger reminded all to get memberships paid. Trails need to be complete by Nov 23rd. Trails left to be completed: Aurora N/S section: Maclean normally has this trail but is unavailable to install this year. Patrick Pate has volunteered to help out with this. Other trails left: Deer Creek to Elkton – Walt will finish John Deere to Deer Creek – Aaron
Parade of Lights Nov 30th - No interest from club at this point, so we will not enter a float this year. Grooming School Dec 2nd and 3rd in Black Hills. Roger D. and Jeremey interested in attending Normally the state will re-imburse, but in case of issues with state re-imbursement, there was a motion to re-imburse gas and hotel cost for attendees . Bob W. (m) and Kyle P (S). Motion approved. State Convention Dec 6th and 7th. Delegates from the club: Roger Thue, Walt Spiering, Bob Weisbeck (alt Dr. Rod) It was noted that the club normally pays for convention and room for delegates. Charity Event: Motion to plan event for Feb 1st Bob (m) and Gayle (s). Motion approved Proceeds for charity event still to be decided, but options so far are: Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and also Backpack Project. Will be brought up in December Raffle Tickets: if you are selling, need to get these back by Dec 1st. Motion for the club to purchase 4 tickets at $25 each. Patrick (m) and Kyle (s). Motion approved. Troy Ness reminded the club that the Armed Forces Assn. vet retreat was sponsored by the club for 2 years for $250.00 per year, and this is the 2nd year of sponsorship. Money has already been earmarked so no motion was needed to approve. Darin noted that we joined the Am. Council of Snowmobiles (ASCA) for $25 last year. Motion to join again this year.
